• U.S. Aids to Navigation System by the U.S. Coast Guard. This pamphlet is designed to help the boater understand the principle use and identification of the US Aids to Navigation System found throughout the Boca Grande and Charlotte Harbor area.

• The Florida Boaters Guide by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission published in 2004. This very helpful 48 page pamphlet has an excellent discussion of the navigation rules, required and optional equipment for your boat, State boating laws and 11 pages of common fish identification found in Florida.

• The Boater’s Guide to Charlotte Harbor by The University Of Florida’s Florida Sea Grand Collage Program, published in 2002. This guide has information about fishing in the area, locations of artificial reefs, a list of marinas and dockside restaurants all on a large paper chart. The chart also shows the various types of bottoms.

The charts are $19.95 each plus 6% tax. The U.S. Aids to Navigation System, The Florida Boater’s Guide, and the Boater’s Guide to Charlotte Harbor are free.
